These ingredients were specifically chosen for the following reasons: Shea Butter Moisturises by penetrating deeply into your skin, giving it back elasticity. It will revitalise, soften and maintain moisture to your skin without greasiness. Unique to Shea Butter is its high content of non-saponifiable fats. This natural fatty acid is felt at the cellular level and contributes to the regeneration process of dry and wrinkled skin. It is also used for treating sore and aching muscles. Shea Butter has a high content of Vitamins A, E and F. These vitamins will provide your skin with all the essential elements it needs for good skin balance. Shea Butter also heals and soothes irritated skin, relieves itching, smooths wrinkles and age spots, cures nappy rash and soothes and nourishes after shaving and waxing.

Cocoa Butter Cocoa Butter is also known as oil of theobroma (Latin for food of the gods). Cocoa Butter is obtained from the fruit of the cacao tree. From its seed kernels the butter is extracted to obtain a creamy coloured butter (unrefined) which distinctly has the aroma of white chocolate. It is ideally suited for use in cosmetics and toiletries. It is solid at room temperatures, but melts easily on contact with the skin.  Properties : Prevents drying of the skin and development of wrinkles.  Reduces degeneration of skin cells and restores skin flexibility.  Like Shea Butter its benefit is its use as an emollient to soften the driest of skins.   It is said to be beneficial in the treatment and prevention of stretchmarks if applied daily to the abdomen, breasts and thighs. Beeswax Essentially Exotic has been fortunate enough to be supplied with 100% organic beeswax. Their supplier collects his honey and wax from the ranges in southern Queensland and uses boiling spring water to clean the wax. No other process is used. The aroma of honey is deliciously predominant. Healing, antiseptic, protective, emollient and softening are just a few of the wonderful properties beeswax adds to a product.

This tropical understorey tree in the family of the Sterculiaceae originated in the Amazon Headwaters from where it moved to Central America. Cocoa cultivation began by Mayan tribes in Central America, ca. 1500 BC. Mayas and Aztec attributed divine origin to cocoa tree (brought by god Queztacoatl). The precious cocoa beans were used as a currency. The sacred beverage called "chocolatl" was consumed from golden cups.
