In most Native American Cultures it is believed that we are all born with several guardian spirits. It is the work of the village Shaman to find the animal that is ready to assist you in recovering your power or else it is discovered in a vision quest (a deeply meditative state which is usually done alone and may or may not be brought on by denial of food and/or sleep or the use of psychoactive aids). Ancient Celtic tribes and some African tribes also believed in guardian animal spirits, either for the tribe or the individual person.

There are many different theories as to how many Totem Spirits, also known as Animal Guides or Power Animals, each person has. One theory is that each person has three, one each for past, present and future. Other theories give each person four power animals, one for each direction or element, or seven power animals that rotate in strength around the wheel of your life. The *Medicine Cards*, by Jamie Sams and David Carson, state that there are nine ... one for each direction, plus one at each side of you. 

In modern, popular Paganism the most commonly accepted theories are that each person has one main Power Animal and that Totem Spirits come into our lives as we need their specific wisdom and that they come or depart at will.

The drawings SerpentineMoon is able to do for you can be aligned to having a Tarot, or similar style of reading, done. Questions may be asked, the answers being given through the drawing.  

These insights can be often be given to you within only a matter of days from your Order, but it is advisable to allow up to a week, as our schedule is often booked in advance.

Also, SerpentineMoon can draw for you your Spirit Guide or Power and Totem Animals.  Often both the Spirit Guide and Animal Guide together are drawn together, as quite frequently their energies combine. These drawings are available through separate listings in our store.  Please email us for further details on these Spirit Guide, Power and Totem Animal drawings, and check our Store for details about these purchases.

Your drawing can be posted directly to you within only a matter of days from you sending the details after your Order has been placed, but mostly, no more than one week.

The drawing is always photographed before posting it and the client receives an email with a link to the photo of their ANIMAL GUIDE.  The work is presented on a private web page made specifically for each client, so as to enable free access for the client to save the work, or print it off.  This also makes for easy delivery of a large file.
